My recent discovery of the Entertainer App has brought me to pretty awesome eateries in Singapore. For the uninitiated, plonking down S$ 95 (i got mine for S$ 74 – 2nd tranche discount) for the app gets you a year’s worth of one-for-one deals at restaurants in Singapore and hotels around the region. I m well on my way to recovering that S$74 with a slew of redemptions (keeping a counter on the sidebar to keep tab of my savings). In case you think this is a scam involving shabby merchants and ridiculous terms and conditions, I can cross-my-heart-hope-to-die that this most definitely is not.

My most recent redemption was done at Erwin’s Gastrobar @ MBFC  with the law sistas for an after-work dinner. We ate ourselves silly!

The most impressive dish was the Erwin’s Steak Sandwich (S$22) of Black Angus rib eye, rocket, roasted pepper and tomato relish, Parmesan and honey mustard on ciabatta bread served with fries or salad. Typing this out is making me hungry. The serving was HUGE and the beef was done well. Coupled with the fragrant ciabatta bread, it was a very satisfying sandwich to round up the day.

The Classic Beef Burger (S$18) with black pepper cheddar and coleslaw served with fries or salad was well, pretty…classic. Beef patty wasn’t something to shout about but the coleslaw gave a nice tangy crunch to it. Again, portion was huge.

I had the Chicken Parmigiana (S$19) myself. Crumbed chicken breast, smothered in Napoletana sauce and mozzarella served with fries and salad. Not bad, but it got a little boring after awhile. Suggest to share it with your dining partners.

For sides, we had the Prawn Poppers ( S$11.50) and Daily Popcorn -Chilli & Lime (S$7). Skip the Prawn Poppers! The popcorn (which came with a slice of lime) was addictive though.  A picollo of Prosecco Glera (S$23.80) accompanied our meals. An Italian Sparkling Wine concoction which is befitting of a girls’-night-out.

We spent a $107 in all. Decent, since we each had a main, with sides and alcohol.

Things that I like about Erwin’s: Food portions are huge (so erm, you never go hungry?) and the drinks menu is extensive with attractive Happy Hour (till 9pm) prices.  Do bring an empty stomach to Erwin’s!
