Sake-infused Minced Pork Noodles

Inspired by: Chubby Hubby’s Simple Minced Pork Noodles

Have been wanting to try this simple dish out since forever! Finally got down to doing it over the weekend for mum-daughter Saturday lunch. Not bad, mum approved of it, but said it could do with more sesame oil.I have added some Napa cabbage into the minced pork mixture to give it some balance. This concoction can be topped over your preferred kind of noodles. I used some vegetarian egg noodles that has been sitting in my cupboard for awhile. Cooking time = 5 minutes and serves 4.


2 tablespoons vegetable oil
200g minced pork (marinated with black sauce + sesame oil)
4 fresh shiitake mushrooms, stalks removed, finely chopped ( i used dried chinese mushrooms)
8 negi or spring onions, finely chopped
2 tablespoons sake (i must have used like erm, 2 CUPS 😉
2 tablespoons soy sauce

My own additions:

  • 2  huge stalks of Napa cabbage, sliced thinly
  • 2 cloves garlic and 1 bulb of shallots, chopped finely


  1. Heat oil in wok
  2. Fry garlic and shallots till fragrant
  3. Add the mushrooms and fry for 30 sec
  4. Add the minced pork and chop it up with the wok
  5. Add the Napa cabbage
  6. Throw in the liquid: sake + soy sauce
  7. Simmer for a couple of minutes
  8. Top it over your favourite bowl of noodles.
  9. Garnish with the spring onions
